"The Nun's Story" (1959)

If you like your Audrey Hepburn funny faced and Tiffany'd this isn't your picture. But if you want a thought provoking, and a bit pious, examination into the kind of mind that devotes itself to God, The Church, chastity, and self sacrifice then look no further. She endures the spartan rigors of her novitiate, then on to service in the Belgian Congo (it's the 1930s) as a hospital nurse where she works with crusty surgeon Peter Finch amongst the natives and lepers. Surprisingly anti-Church for it's time, Hepburn gives a heartfelt performance that she considered it her favorite, and you'll see why.
