"For Me and My Gal" (1942)

MGM's first musical pairing of Gene Kelly and Judy Garland with a story that has them as hoofing vaudevillians trying to make The Big Time with jealousies and WWI getting in the way. A little sappy, but sometimes touching (nobody turned on the waterworks like Garland), and you get a HUGE passel of old warhorse tunes like "After You've Gone", "It's a Long Way to Tipperary", " When Johnny Comes Marching Home", etc, with Gene and Judy selling it all with panache.
